Pinterest Birthday Cake Pin Is Baked And Served!

Lily, my grand daughter, recently celebrated her 2cd birthday. Her cake for the party was a Tinkerbell cupcake cake, that we purchased. (By the way, I found the cupcake cake to be VERY messy to serve.) Her birthday was the following day. I made her another cake to serve on her birthday. I had pinned a cute cake on Pinterest a few weeks before. It looked simple enough that I thought I could do it. Here is the Pinterest version: (Edited to add: The idea for this cake came from I Am Baker blog. Lots of fun cakes there!)
The following is the cake that I made for Lily:
The frosting got a little smashed on the side. (Big brother got excited and pushed the cake cover into it.) I used what food coloring I already had for the colors. My hand sure got tired squeezing the frosting bags, but it wasn't hard to do. I might even make this again! Linking to Pinned It, Made It Monday at Country Girl At Home blog!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. You can find the pattern on Ravelry under The Elise Shawl. It is fairly easy once you get the repeats down.. Go for it.

Your cake is so pretty. I like that idea better than sprinkles.
