Some God Given Beauty and Phoebe Too!

Wanted to share with you some pictures I took earlier today. We had some more rain and thunderstorms pass by and this is what they left behind for us besides the wonderful rain.

Yes, it is a double rainbow! Look closely to the left and you will see the faint second rainbow. It was so very pretty in real life. It looked like it came right out of the Fairmont Inn's roof and went all the way across town to the main street area. The colors were so vivid!

It stayed around for quite a while. Just west of the rainbow, we had some wonderful clouds I wanted to share also.

These are mammatus clouds. I don't ever remember seeing them before we moved out west. I know what they are because the local weatherman had pictures of some on his weathercast a few weeks ago and explained how they are formed. They usually appear after thunderstorms have passed by.

I took several pictures of them.

You can see that the skies were clearing just behind them.

Phoebe has been on a "no scraps" diet for the past few months. She had gained a little too much weight and it was hurting her. She had a good report from the vet and has lost some of her weight! This is her favorite treat - an almost empty jar of peanut butter! She holds it between her paws and licks it perfectly clean exactly halfway down the jar. You will notice it is reduced fat peanut butter. No need to go overboard here!

Have a great day!

What gorgeous pictures you captured! Those clouds were beautiful. I love seeing a rainbow! We had quite a storm and lots of rain last night too and it still looks like rain today!

What a cute picture of Phoebe! We used to love to watch our former dog eat peanut butter....it seemed like she would never stop licking the roof of her mouth!

Have a great day!

Thanks for popping by my blog. Such beautiful photos, amazing rainbows and I've never seen clouds like that, they look like they are upside down, falling out of the sky!! Your Phoebe is so sweet, my cat is called Phoebe too :) I was so glad to see that your hail was not too big, a few months ago we had hail the size of tennis balls which damaged our roof and lots of the house and garden, pretty scarey! Hugs, Catherine x

What a lovely rainbow! I've never seen a double rainbow before. I like the pictures of the clouds...I used to spend hours staring at them when I was little. But now that I'm old I don't even look up anymore. I guess I should spend more time enjoying nature.
OKAY, I am totally in love with Phoebe! What a cutie! It must be hard for her to be on a diet. I know when I try to wean myself from my favorite treats, thoughts of them start to take over my mind until I can no longer hold back and I end up licking the little packages (j/k). But I do end up eating double the treats.

Maybe I need to go on a scrap free diet. I think it may help me to.

Thanks for sharing.

I love thunderstroms and rain and especially rainbows. Aren't they just amazingly beautiful sight?! You did save the best for last, though. Phoebe is too darn cute. What a sweet thing with her peanut butter treat. I give my dog the jar sometimes too and he also loves yougurt containers.

Hi Arkie!

Oh my gosh...Phoebe is just too darling. That's hysterical...

I've seen double rainbows in Hawaii, but had NEVER seen one here in the PNW until about a year ago. We have plenty of the rain part.....but the sun part? Not so much, so we don't get many rainbows. I was thrilled to see one. STUNNING! God's paintbrush!

I have never seen clouds like that. How beautiful. We get PLENTY of clouds here....lots of black ones....Not that I don't love living here, it's a gorgeous place to live....

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Spencer

What a beautiful double rainbow! I have seen them but don't think I have ever gotten a photo. And those clouds are just amazing! I'm not sure if I've ever seen any like them before.

Thanks for sharing these terrific photos and for stopping by my kitchen table too. Stop in and visit anytime. I don't post every day, but the archives are full and I think you'll find some good recipes and ideas there.

God bless.

Guess you live where it's so flat that the rainbows don't disappear behind a hill. Those are beautiful. I was not familiar with that type of cloud. Those are really pretty.
